Our Team at Heliflite comes from a variety of different backgrounds, but we all share a passion for aviation. As a very close-knit business, we embrace the personalities of each other and encourage personal development. With such a pleasurable environment to work in, we are certain you will enjoy your experience with us. No matter who you first meet, our team members will always have a smile on their face.
Heliflite Management Staff
Brett is the driving force behind Heliflite. Starting his career in aviation over 30 years ago as an engineer, he quickly got the bug to fly. His first job was flying a Hughes 500 off Tuna boats. Since then he has moved all the way up in the aviation world and is a fixed-wing ATPL and C-Cat Instructor as well as a licensed Helicopter Pilot.
Sylvia is the glue that holds us together. Commonly referred to as Brett’s better half, Sylvia has been with Heliflite since day one. She is responsible for the business administration and is most likely the bubbly voice you hear at the other end of the phone when you ring us.
Jon is Heliflites CFI as a qualified B-Category Instructor and Operations Manager. Jon also flies Northland’s rescue helicopter, a Sikorsky S76 based in North Shore. Along with his aviation career, Jon has an extensive IT background through which he has built many CAA certified flight simulators. Jon has a B-Cat instructor rating and is also IFR and NVG endorsed
Ryan is the newest addition to Heliflites Team. Ryan comes to us as a well developed B-Category Instructor and Commercial Pilot. Ryan is a very well rounded individual and is now Heliflites go-to man for all things Training. Ryan started his flying in the South Island of New Zealand where he gained his Commercial Pilots Licence. He has since then completed his C-Category & B-Category Instructor Ratings.
Jamie is a third-generation helicopter pilot, having followed in his parents, and grandfather’s footsteps in becoming a commercial helicopter pilot. He has always wanted to fly from an early age and realized his dream training as one of Heliflite’s first CPL students. Since gaining his wings, he has flown commercially with Heliflite and specializes in photography and film work flying.
